History
Relatives: Kaede (sister)
Figures: Children (siblings)
Companions: Shinidamachu (soul collectors), Kocho and Asuka
Friends: None
Enemies: Naraku, Kagura, Kanna, etc.
Mates: Inu-Yasha (complicated)
In-Depth History: Kikyo became a priestess at a young age. Her mother might have been a priestess. Kikyo had a younger sister named Kaede who she took on as an apprentice priestess. Kikyo had above-average spiritual powers.
Kikyo was given the sacred jewel, so that she could protect it. With the jewel her life became a lot harder. Demons and bad men came after her, hoping to obtain the sacred jewel. Kikyo was able to protect the jewel from these demons and bad men.
Later, when Kikyo was on a quest with Kaede and the Dark Priestess Tsubaki, Tsubaki put a curse on Kikyo so that she would die an unnatural death if she fell in love.
Kikyo swore never to fall in love, and so she did not. However, after a battle with a strong demon, Kikyo was wounded. There she met Inu-Yasha in his human form. She warned him to stay away if he valued his life.
She recovered later and continued to protect the Jewel. Inu-Yasha came again, now in his true form. He demanded the Shikon Jewel, but Kikyo evaded him without killing him.
Kikyo later found a wounded bandit named Onigumo. He had been in a fire and fallen from a cliff. He was disfigured, and both of his legs were broken. Kikyo took pity on him and sheltered him a cave, once a day she fed him.
Kikyo later invited Inu-Yasha to sit with her. Kikyo asked him, "Do I look human?" Inu-Yasha didn't answer, and Kikyo said that even though she was human she could not be human or she would be killed. She said that is why she couldn't kill him, because he, as a half-demon tried to ignore the human within him as well.
Inu-Yasha did not agree and said they were not similar. Kikyo agreed with Inu-Yasha but was sad. Inu-Yasha asked Kikyo to return to the same place tomorrow because he said he had a gift for her. Kikyo said she had a gift for him as well.
The next day, Inu-Yasha gave Kikyo a clam-shell filled with lip paint. He said that it was one of two things that his mother left him, which were the robe of the fire-rat and the clam-shell. Kikyo was amazed and asked him if she could really have it. Inu-Yasha said she could, and reminded her that she had said she'd bring him a gift. Kikyo did have a gift, which were the beads of subjugation. However, after receiving Inu-Yasha's gift she did not have the heart to give the beads to him.
After this Kikyo and Inu-Yasha met more often, and fell in love. They fought demons together, but had calm moments too. Kikyo asked him if he would become human because it would destroy the jewel and she could live a normal life with Inu-Yasha. Inu-Yasha agreed, and they decided they would do it the following morning.
Onigumo had become jealous of Inu-Yasha and Kikyo by then and demons came to him and said that they would fulfil his wish if he gave them his body and soul. He agreed. The demons ate him and became Naraku. Naraku still had Onigumo's heart, and decided that Inu-Yasha and Kikyo would not be together.
The next morning Naraku disguised himself as Inu-Yasha, attacked Kikyo, broke the clam-shell, and stole the Shikon Jewel from her. He said that he had never wanted to become human. Kikyo was heart-broken.
Naraku put the jewel back in its shrine, and took the form of Kikyo. He attacked Inu-Yasha, claiming that he could never love a half-demon such as him. Inu-Yasha was also heart-broken and went to steal the Shikon Jewel. He destroyed the village in the process.
Kikyo had little strength left. She used the rest of her strength to pin Inu-Yasha to the tree of eternal life with one of her sealing arrows. Kikyo allowed herself to die after that, to follow Inu-Yasha to Hell.
50 years passed and Kikyo had been reincarnated as Kagome. Kagome rescued Inu-Yasha, but Kikyo was still dead until the Ogresses Urasue resurrected Kikyo to be her servant. Kikyo killed Urasue and tried to kill Inu-Yasha, but failed.
Kikyo tried to live a normal life, but because she had to use the souls of the dead to survive, she was unable to. She became a travelling priestess who helped the needy if she came upon them.
She tried to kill Inu-Yasha again, but found herself falling back in love with him. Inu-Yasha loved her too, but Inu-Yasha was travelling with Kagome. Inu-Yasha had a crush on Kagome which started a love triangle.
Role-Play Sample: Kikyo broke the kiss, but she kept her arms around Samonosuke's neck. She stared into Samonosuke's eyes, and saw her reflection in them. She saw her smile, and it surprised her.
Why had she kissed Samonosuke? She couldn't think of a reason, probably because there wasn't one. She had kissed him because she wanted to and he had kissed her back. Did that mean that he had wanted to kiss her too?
She remembered the last time she had kissed someone. Inu-Yasha. She broke eye-contact with Samonosuke when she remembered Inu-Yasha. He was beyond her reach now.
From the mountain peak where the demon house was, she looked over the meadow, the tropical forest, the dry forest, the burning village and beyond. Somewhere in the beyond was Inu-Yasha, and he was with Kagome.
She knew that Inu-Yasha still loved her, but he had moved on. She knew that she still loved Inu-Yasha, but maybe it was time for her to move on too. She felt tears build in her eyes, but she wiped her tears on Samonosuke's clothes before they could fall.
She would not rush into a decision, she decided. She was free to love, and free to hate. However, she did not want to open her heart to a demon only to be betrayed again. She would need time to think about this.
"Goodbye, Samonosuke. Thank you for your help. If fate is willing, we will meet again." and she let go of his warm body, and jumped from the mountain peak. Her soul collectors caught her before she hit the ground, and flew her far away from the mountain, the meadow, the tropical forest, the dry forest and the burning village into the beyond.
