In-Depth Human Appearance: Byakko stands at six feet and seven inches, and is muscular enough to be content with his appearance. He is broad-shouldered and deep voiced, and tends to hold himself rather regally. He is actually much more flexible than his stiff movements show, and he is very adept at fighting with hands and claws. He is fast, but his true power is his strength.
Byakko's claws look, upon first glance, like ordinary human fingernails. At will he can make them grow longer, and they are his primary weapon in battle. He prefers long, flowing garments. He has ears like a tiger, and a long tail with white fur. He bears numerous black stripes on his body, most of them on his upper extremities. He is usually seen barefoot, and wears no heavy armor.
In-Depth Demon Appearance:
Byakko's demon appearance is one he rarely uses, as it is cumbersome and exerts more youki than he would like to allow on a regular basis. He stands as an enormous tiger with white fur and saber teeth with claws that can be sheathed or unsheathed at will. His eyes remain the same blue, and he has a thick ridge of fur on the nape of his neck.
He is muscular, and depends less on speed, and more on his strength and fearsome appearance. In this form, he bears two tails. His fur looks coarse, but is actually very soft, with a thick undercoat to keep the cold away. He has black-tipped ears and, of course, a multitude of stripes all along his body.
Equipment

Over all of this he wears an open haori coat with dark blue fringes. His hakama pants are the same dark blue, and he is always barefoot. because of the length of his hair, he ties it back with two strips of red leather, one tie up higher than the other. His sidelocks are decorated with thick red beads.
Weapons/Charms: Byakko uses his own claws and fangs as his weapons. His claws can unsheathe at will and are as sharp as any demon sword. At one time he possessed the power to summon blades of wind to slice at his enemies, but seems to have lost this ability, willing or not.

In-Depth Personality:
In his youth, around the time he hit 500, Byakko was every bit the arrogant, loud-mouthed brat of an entitled youkai. His father was, at that time, the leader of the Tiger Clan, and Byakko felt himself priveleged and deserving of every honor. He courted girls randomly and inconsistently, drank strong demon sake, yelled at the servants, and caused no end of trouble for his poor father and mother.
At the age of 1000, Byakko began to mature slowly. It was around this time that he met his mate, Amaya. The tigress had a gentling influence on him, and Byakko treated her with a reverence of one truly in love. He became quiet, more observant, abiding more by his own morals. He found he had a fondness for writing, and loved the smell of fresh ink. He is gentle natured, but will not hesitate to fight to protect that which he cares for. If he is ever truly angry, then look out. There is no such fury as the tiger burned.

In-Depth History:
Byakko was born as the prince of the Tiger Clan. His father was the honored leader of them all, a kind and caring man who tried to guide his people with wisdom. Byakko was arrogant and spoiled, no doubt thanks to his mother, who doted upon him as her only child. For many years he was the bane of his father's existence, causing no end of trouble with other the surrounding clans of youkai. Things such as bedding their daughters and servants with no regard for social ties, and leaving them immediately afterwards. Property destruction brought on by a drunken stupor; drunk youkai are not joke, after all.
It was when he met Amaya that his spirit began to calm itself. She was a beautiful tigress, a female youkai from a noble family in the Clan. Byakko was smitten by her almost immediately, and the gentling influence she had on him was a relief to many. Years later, Amaya bore him a child, a daughter by the name of Kaiserin. There were enemies against the Tiger Clan, however, and one night, an assassin from the Dragon Clan snuck into the fortress under the guise of a servant, and attempted to kill the babe. Amaya gave her life to defend the child before help could arrive.
Heartbroken, Byakko recoiled into himself, taking care of his child and refusing to let another near, save for the nursemaid. Outside of this, his father declared war upon the Dragon Clan for their assassination attempt, and the two Clans began to eat eachother away with battles and skirmishes. It was when the Dragon Clan burned down the fortress that Byakko, numb to familiar ties and honor, escaped with Kaiserin to seek new horizons. For two years they lived pleasantly enough, but Kaiserin took sick with a deadly youkai illness common to demon children. She died, and Byakko drifted.
Eventually, the numb and unstable man settled in a forest. He put himself into a comatose sort of hibernation, intent on either dying, or sleeping away his incredible pain. When humans arrived and built a village nearby, he was unaware. When they discovered him, asleep and docile, the villagers decided to make sure he stayed that way, and built a shrine around him, hiding him away underneath it. Now, the Tiger Clan is no more, and Byakko is the last of his kind.
Role-Play Sample:
It was early morning, and sunlight was streaming in through the shutters. Byakko sighed heavily, stretched out his body in the way only a tiger could manage, and popped several joints just for the satisfying sound. His eyelids fluttered, and his ears flicked; he smiled faintly as he caught the faint sound of snoring. Amaya never believed him when he told her how she carried on sometimes, but this only proved his point. His dear mate snored, and sometimes, it could sound like a thunderstorm roaring outside. Not that he blamed her, of course; it was hard not to snore when one slept so well, after all.
Rolling over onto his side, he leaned down to inhale her scent. Cherry blossoms; she always carried that scent with her, and he loved it. Pressing her long orange hair away from her neck, he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her striped skin. She mumbled, purred faintly, but continued to sleep. Smiling a bit wider, Byakko's hand slid down to the swell of her stomach, feeling with sensitive fingers the almost unnoticeable hum of life within. Not much longer before they had their baby here, with them. It almost set him to trembling, just thinking about it. His father had said it was normal to feel this way, particularly about one's firstborn. How would he have known? Byakko mused. he was the only son...
"Mnmn. Go back t'sleep." he heard Amaya sigh in a sleep-soft voice, and Byakko chuckled. "Very well." he purred, curling his arm around her side and settling against her back, eyes closing. Time enough for the rest of the world later.
